Manuel Silvela y Le Vielleuze

Manuel Silvela y Le Vielleuze (Paris, Kingdom of France, 9 March 1830 - Madrid, Kingdom of Spain, 25 May 1892) was a Spanish politician, lawyer, writer and journalist who held several importante governmental offices, such as Minister of State and Councillor of State.

Silvela was son of the prominent lawyer Francisco Agustín Silvela y Blanco and wife Luisa de le Vielleuze y Sotés, and brother of the also politician Francisco Silvela. He was awarded the Collar of the Order of Charles III and the Great Crosses of Orders of the Légion d'Honneur, Pius X, the Red Eagle, Saints Maurice and Lazarus, Leopold of Belgium, Leopold of Austria, the Immaculate Conception of Vila Viçosa, the Rose, St. Olav, the Zähringer Lion, the Lion and the Sun, Burma and St. Charles, among others.
